About

Scope

ISO/TC 92/SC4 provides engineering tools for analysis of fire performance of designs for whole buildings or other built environments. The main objectives of ISO/TC 92/SC 4 are as follows:

a) Provide the necessary FSE documents supporting performance-based design and assessment;

b) Develop and maintain a set of ISO documents useful for fire safety engineering;

c) Develop engineering design and evaluation methods to be used for verifying that appropriate fire safety objectives are achieved;

d) Standardize, when not handled by another SC or TC, the necessary calculation or other assessment methods, including determination of their accuracy and limitations;

e) Provide standards required for performance-based fire safety design and assessment;

f) Develop rules and/or standards for validation procedures.
