Scope
Standardization of methods for instrument specification, instrument calibration, instrument operation, data acquisition, data processing, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis in the use of mass spectrometry for surface chemical analysis; including but not limited to secondary ion mass spectrometry, matrix assisted laser desorption ionisation mass spectrometry, ambient mass spectrometry, and atom probe tomography.
Excluded: Glow discharge mass spectrometry which is within the scope of ISO/TC 201/SC 8.
